Our Editor in Chief Keri aka Kiki Lou is also the Founder of Rides For Relief.
Rides for Relief is a car show and fundraiser run BY women, FOR women and families in crisis.
Founded in 2018 by Keri & Tracy, Rides For Relief is a venue to help generate awareness and revenue for local domestic abuse support charities. The 2018 inaugural event came together in two months and raised $2,500 for YWCA Calgary. The 2019 show raised over $3,500 for Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. women's shelter.
Due to the regulations surrounding gathering sizes and events, this year the physical car show has been cancelled. We are pivoting to an online event to continue raising the integral funds through a unique live stream of Pin Up Contest and Rockabilly Concert.
Hosting one of the largest pin up contests in Alberta, the show is a gathering of not only car minded people, but pin ups and vintage lovers alike. The gathering is for giving back and spreading awareness, not just for looking good.
The Pin Up Dolls
Our Dolls have been working hard toward the top title of MISS GRACIOUS they have hit the $2,500 mark!!
That's only what we can see online, this does not count any cash in hand!
Let's celebrate our gorgeous dolls and all their hard work by donating to them today!
Our goal for this event is $5,000 let's break that and shoot higher! All fundraising goes straight to Airdrie POWER Women's Shelter Campaign.
Let's knock their socks off and have the most successful event of the year!
Tune in on September 19 form 11-5 MST for the party of the pandemic at www.ridesforrelief.com

Submission Requirements
Hello lovely dolls,
I have had a few emails from you asking what we are looking for, so I thought I would make a quick post and let you in on the details so you can plan your best shoot ever.
As with all of our submissions we require
You to live in Canada.
6-8 high resolution professional photos. Not all photos need to be from the same shoot. The more you send within the current theme the better your chances are of being published.
A bio of yourself. Minimum 250 words. Tell us about your journey into pin up, where you’re from etc.
A media release signed by yourself and the photographer
It’s a pretty short and quick list.
Check our new page dedicated to our submissions here.
Inspiration: ROAD TRIP 2020
So this theme is pretty broad but I would love to take a Road Trip across Canada. Due to the current restrictions on travel I would love to do a photographic road trip from coast to glorious coast. So get outside and show me your province or territory.
My Big, Shiny Vision
We are Road Trippers; we love to take the back roads, explore quirky towns and just meander around. I want to see that across every page of the magazine. Oceans, forests, cities, towns, back roads, natural wonders; find what sings to you and explore it.
First things first, LOCATION. This is the most important detail so here is some ideas:
BC- Ocean, forests, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, vineyards, orchards.
Alberta- Mountains, lakes, fields, farms, rivers, Hoo doos, all those quirky “World’s Largest” roadside attractions.
Saskatchewan- the never ending skies and province of lakes. North Saskatchewan River,
Manitoba- The Forks, Ukrainian Village, fields, lakes, rivers
Ontario- The Great Lakes, cottage country, Horseshoe Falls, Toronto waterfront
Quebec- Old Quebec, the St Lawrence, Sugar shacks, La Grande Roue de Montreal, Oratoire Notre-Dame-Du-Mont-St-Joseph
Nova Scotia- tall ships, the harbour, light houses, Cape Breton, Peggy’s Cove
PEI- red earth, Anne of Green Gables, Cavendish Beach, lighthouses
New Brunswick- Ocean, Hopewell Rocks, Bay of Fundy, Sawmill Creek Bridge, wharf, harbours, cities and the quaint towns
Newfoundland- Row houses, Viking settlement, everywhere! You live on a really cool rock.
There are so many gorgeous places all across Canada and I want to see them all!
What to pack:
Picnic
Gorgeous blankets
Record player and records
Umbrella
Maps
Suitcases
Camera
An amazing GLAMPER?!?
All the amazing quirky things you would bring on a road trip
Here is some previously submitted ideas for you. Enjoy your planning and have fun!
Stay safe and healthy
Kiki Lou

ROAD TRIP 2020 SUBMISSION DATE CHANGE
BIG NEWS! 👇👇👇
We have adjusted our submission deadline for ROAD TRIP 2020.
New deadline: AUGUST 15, 2020
Due to the restrictions in place currently we are finding it impossible to get any work done. We want to release the best content and we feel that we need to wait until you’re able to get out and build your submissions.
This has been a challenging time for us all, however, we can look at this one of two ways. One, this is super awful, desperately isolating and full of fear. Fair point. Two, use this time of stillness to plot to take over the world. Walk out with new hairstyles mastered and dripping in glamour.
I vote we own the second choice and be the ultimate force of strength, resiliency and beauty, both inside and out.
So all you gorgeous doll and dapper dudes, we can’t wait to see your submissions. If you need some inspiration and advice on how to get your glowing face into the magazine send us a quick email or DM we are more than happy to help info@truenorthpinup.ca.
Kisses and good health to you loves. 💋💋
