Frequently asked questions.
True North Pin Up – Photographer FAQ
Updated Media Access Policies & Expectations
❓ Can I attend a True North event as a photographer if a contestant invites me?
No.
While we love that contestants want to share the spotlight, only event-approved photographers may attend in a creative/media capacity.
If a pin-up invites you, please pause and contact Keri directly for clarification.
Being invited by a contestant does not count as registration or permission to shoot.
❓ How do I become an approved photographer?
You’ll need to:
Fill out the Photographer Application Form (coming soon)
Receive approval from the event organizer (Keri)
Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions, expectations, and your media access info.
❓ Who is the Official Photographer and what does that mean?
At large-scale events like World of Wheels and Boogie in the Badlands, our Official Photographer is Janelle Friend of Miss Friend Photography.
She pays to be there, has first booking rights, and is the only photographer permitted to offer scheduled mini sessions unless otherwise approved.
All other creatives must respect her space, access, and leadership on-site.
❓ Can I still take casual photos if I’m not officially registered?
No.
If you are not registered and approved, you may not take photos at the event—not even casually. This is to protect:
The comfort and safety of contestants
The investments of official media partners
The structure and flow of the event
❓ What is the Media Code of Conduct?
This is a policy that sets the standard for:
Consent-first photography
Inclusive, non-discriminatory behavior
Respecting creative roles and space
Transparency around how images are shared or used
📄 You can read the full code here: Media Code of Conduct
❓ What if I want to be involved in the future?
Amazing! We love working with passionate, professional creatives. Please send a message to Keri at info@truenorthpinup.ca and we’ll keep you in the loop for future registration opportunities.
Let’s create with respect, clarity, and love—together.
Because when every person feels seen, magic happens. 💖
