Always wanted to try a vintage hairstyle and get help with perfecting that glamorous old Hollywood makeup?

This is your opportunity to learn from the pros!!

All the way from Las Vegas, she's the host of the biggest pinup pageant in the world, she's a makeup artist, hair stylist, event producer, photographer, shoot stylist, burlesque dancer and model, she's ROCKWELL DE'VIL!! And she'll be sharing her pro tips with you!

And behind the lens, with over fifteen years and thousands of pinup shoots under her cinched belt, she's a makeup artist, hair stylist, professional pose coach and wardrobe stylist, she's SHIMONA HENRY of Pinup Perfection Photography!! Best of all? She has now relocated from the mainland to Vancouver Island and calls Port Alberni her home.

Co-hosting this fabulous event will be Dandy D'Lish, makeup artist, winner of multiple pageant titles, pinup pageant producer, internationally published pinup model and your new best friend!

Alongside co-host Cherry Lee Lewis, pageant producer, professional pinup model, and Shimona's right hand woman, trained in all things Pinup Perfection!

This event will include Rockwell's skilled teaching of a vintage glam hairstyle, as well as makeup tips to get you ready for your mini photoshoot with Shimona. You will be given a list of any necessary makeup/tools to bring for class.

Your shoot will include one professionally edited image, as well as discounted pricing for extra edit purchases, ONLY available to attendees of this class.

Full studio set will be provided. Feel free to bring props for your shoot.

Please arrive in (or bring) your own outfit. This look is completely up to you, whether you want glam, cheesecake, boudoir, or modern pinup. You are the star of your own shoot!

Please arrive with at least your makeup base. We won't have time to do a complete face for you but there will be plenty of time for you to do touch ups as other girls are shooting. The makeup artists will be able to help you out, if needed. Please bring your own makeup.

Charcuterie and tasty beverages will be provided. Please let us know upon booking if you have any allergies, or preferences (vegan, gluten free).

Space will be limited to 10 students, to ensure that all have equal time in front of the camera.

Welcome to Ladysmith's very first pinup pageant, hosted by Dandy D'Lish, and the VIPs (Vancouver Island Pinups).
This event will be held at Ladysmith's annual Show & Shine on August 19th, on the traditional, unceded territory of the Stz'uminus First Nation.

The contest is open to anyone identifying as female, over the age of 19. All women are encouraged to enter, as everyone is worthy, unique and beautiful, and there's no better way to make new pinup friends!

There is a $20 non-refundable fee required to hold your spot.
There will only be a limited number of entries allowed.
Please e-transfer your fee to dandydlish@gmail.com and email the following information as soon as you have done so: Your real name, phone number, email, and pinup name. (If you don't have one yet that's ok. We'll work on it!)

You will also need to submit a photo for your event poster, so that you can promote the event on social media. (This can be submitted later.) Your friends will want to see you on stage!

Outfits for the pageant should be vintage themed (think 1940s-1960s) but true vintage is not necessary. Be creative. Show us who you are. Your hair and makeup should be done in vintage style. Present your pinup persona as you would like her to be seen. You can create a whole new you!

The theme is "Island Girls" but that is open to your interpretation. There are so many wonderful things about our island. This is your opportunity to get creative, if you want. The most important thing is to have fun and don't worry too much about the theme. We want to see your personality on stage.

This is a family friendly event, so please dress appropriately.
No lingerie.
No skimpy swimsuits.
Nothing see-through.
"Classy not trashy" is how the VIPs roll!

While on stage, you will have a small amount of time to show/tell us something you can do. This is your time to shine! If you have a talent, bring it. If you want to share a favourite poem, do it. If you want to tell a joke, make us laugh! If you're unsure about what to do, ask for help. If you'd like to use your time to tell us a bit about yourself, this is your opportunity to share. You'll have 1-2 minutes to wow us. We call this "Pinup Show 'n Tell"!

The pageant will be scored by a panel of special judges. Contestants will be judged on outfit, hair, makeup, personality/stage presence and theme authenticity. This is not a typical "beauty pageant". We want to see your inner beauty. We want to empower women to be their true selves and have fun doing it.

This is going to be an incredibly fun day, filled with classic cars, food, drinks, 50/50 tickets and pinup girls.
