What Happens After You’re Selected

You got the email. You’re in. Cue the happy dance 💃
Now let’s talk about what happens next—so you can move from excitement to confidence without guessing.

Being selected for a contest is just the beginning of the experience. Clear onboarding, expectations, and communication help make sure the weekend runs smoothly for everyone. That’s why we’ve built a structured process that supports you from the moment you’re accepted through well after the final walk.

Here’s what you can expect once you receive that “you’re selected” message.

Step One: Confirmation & Paperwork

Once registration closes and selections are finalized, you’ll receive a confirmation email welcoming you officially into the lineup.

You’ll be asked to:

  • Confirm your spot by a set deadline

  • Complete any remaining paperwork or waivers

  • Review key dates, schedules, and expectations

You’ll also receive our Anti-Bullying & Inclusion Policy, because the culture of the event matters just as much as the stage itself. This step locks in the lineup and sets the tone early: professional, respectful, and community-first.

Step Two: The Contestant Guide (The Info Drop)

About 2–3 weeks before the event, you’ll receive a detailed Contestant Guide—your main planning resource.

This includes:

  • Event schedule and call times

  • Stage expectations and show flow

  • Appearance requirements and participation details

  • Backstage logistics and access information

  • Judging categories and our simplified rubric:

    • Queen (1st Place)

    • Dame (2nd Place)

    • Doll (3rd Place)

    • Miss Gracious (Top Fundraiser – exclusive to Drumheller)

  • Code of conduct reminders

  • Optional graphics and social media tips to help you share your spotlight moment

  • Clear contact information if questions come up

No guessing. No scrambling. Just clarity.

Step Three: Prep, Not Panic

Once you have the full picture, this is your time to plan confidently.

You don’t need to be perfect. You do need to be prepared.

This is when you’ll:

  • Finalize outfits and backup options

  • Confirm travel and accommodations

  • Build your emergency kit

  • Ask questions early (we genuinely love that)

Preparation makes the entire experience calmer and more enjoyable—for you and everyone around you.

Step Four: Show Up & Shine

During the event, your job is refreshingly simple:

  • Be present

  • Be kind

  • Be professional

  • Be yourself

We’ll handle schedules, stage flow, and behind-the-scenes logistics so you can focus on enjoying the moment and connecting with the experience you’ve worked toward.

Step Five: After the Stage Lights

After the contest wraps:

  • Winners will receive follow-up details as needed

  • Photos and content will be shared according to partner timelines

  • You’re encouraged to celebrate, connect, and reflect

Win or not, being part of the lineup means you showed up—and that matters.

If you’d like your scores or feedback, just ask. We’re committed to transparency, growth, and helping you feel proud—not puzzled—about your results. We’ll also send out a post-event feedback form, because your experience helps us continue to improve.

The Bottom Line

Being selected isn’t about pressure. It’s about participation in something that’s been built with care.

You’re not expected to know everything on day one. That’s what the process is for.
